Broccoli Bolognese

FOUR PEOPLE texted me that they made this recipe after I posted it on Meals By Maeve.

This does not sound like a lot, but consider that as of this writing 79 people watched the whole thing to the end and then 4 of you actually dragged yourselves to the store in this virus-ridden age, bought the things you needed, and made it! That’s 5% of viewers!

Before you sneeze at 5%, consider this - if you opened a savings account that had a 5% return rate you’d be pretty dang happy! Find personal finances stressful? How about democracy? I can’t even tell you how many elections have been decided within a 5% margin. (This is actually a GOTV sub-post).

Oh, are you “not a political person”? Fine. You clearly like football, then. Roughly 5% of Americans watched the Patriots play the Giants on Thursday Night Football last year (goodbye and good riddance, Brady). It was one of the most-watched television events of the year. Do you know how much they charge for those advertisements? It’s why cable is still a thing.

So I write with pride that 5% of my MBM audience went out and tried this recipe. To paraphrase JFK, one person can make a difference, and everyone should try (to make broccoli bolognese).

Thank you for briefly making me feel like a real #influencer. Apologies in advance for when I cash out and start peddling flat tummy teas in your feed.

Recipe from Bon Appétit.
